Andrew Moshfeghi, MD, MBA is Associate Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology and Director of the Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship training program at the University of Southern California’s Roski Eye Institute. At USC, Dr. Moshfeghi serves as the Medical Director of the USC Roski Eye Institute and runs the Clinical Trials Unit. He formerly served as Medical Director of the Bascom Palmer Surgery Center and the Palm Beach campus of the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami. In addition to serving on the Finance Committee of The Retina Society, Dr. Moshfeghi is an emeritus founding member of the Board of Directors of the Vit-Buckle Society (VBS) and the CONNECT Network and is a member of The Retina Society, The Macula Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Association of Retina Specialists, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and Club Vit. He recently served as the Co-Chair of the Fellowship Directors’ Education & Training Committee for the ASRS. Dr. Moshfeghi serves as an Editorial Board Member of OSLI Retina, Retinal Cases & Brief Reports, Retina Today, Ocular Surgery News (Retina Section Editor) and Ophthalmology Times. He is a scientific advisor to many biotech and pharmaceutical companies, is a frequented invited lecturer at national & international symposia and has published dozens of peer-reviewed works. He received his undergraduate education from the University of Chicago and medical training at Tulane University School of Medicine. Following ophthalmology residency at North Shore University Hospital in New York, Dr. Moshfeghi completed fellowship training in medical retina & vitreoretinal surgery at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, where he was selected as a recipient of the Ronald G. Michels Fellowship Foundation Award. He is the recipient of the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Achievement Award and the Senior Honor Award from the American Society of Retina Specialists. He has been recognized by Newsweek Magazine as one of the top 175 ophthalmologists in the US in addition to numerous additional awards.
